In response to the unique challenge posed by Girdlers Cafe's location – exposed to rain and UV light – our task was to design tile murals that seamlessly wrapped around all four sides of the shopfront. The brief, succinctly put by the client, was a "Botanical design of random wilderness," capturing the essence of a natural, untamed environment.

The sizes of the commissioned murals were carefully tailored to enhance the visual impact:

Working in collaboration with the talented architect Miguel Gonzalez (www.m-lon.com.au), Elisa embraced the challenge of bringing the client's vision to life while ensuring the durability of the tiles against the elements. The result is a captivating botanical mural that not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of Girdlers Cafe but also withstands the outdoor elements with resilience and grace. Each mural reflects the randomness and beauty of the wilderness, creating a visual feast for patrons and passersby alike.

The success of this collaboration paved the way for another commission at Girdlers, Avalon, demonstrating the positive impact of our tile murals on creating inviting and distinctive cafe environments and celebrating the marriage of art and functionality, where every tile tells a story and every mural transforms a space into a work of living art.
